The White Stripes Cancel Tour

The White Stripes have canceled 18 U.S. concerts through Oct. 10.

According to a statement from the band:

"The White Stripes announced today that they are canceling their forthcoming tour due to health issues. Meg White is suffering from acute anxiety and is unable to travel at this time. The White Stripes sincerely apologize to their fans. We hate to let people down and are very sorry."

No Cover Art For Hard-Fi

Hard-Fi have reportedly 'killed off the record sleeve' with the artwork for their forthcoming second album 'Once Upon A Time In The West'.

Speaking to The Times frontman Richard Archer said that the decision to feature simply the band's name and LP title in small letters, alongside the words 'No Cover Art' on the cover was a reaction to the digital download age.

Archer explained, "The significance of album covers is becoming little more than a centimetre square on an iPod screen. The sleeve used to add another dimension to an album, but that seems to be disappearing, which is really sad."

"We had the Sleeve of the Year in 2005 and we looked at every way of trying to top it. But perhaps the best way is to kill off the sleeve altogether."

Elsewhere, respected sleeve designer Peter Saville has described the decision as a "bold and very intelligent gesture".

'Once Upon A Time In The West' is out on September 3, with first single release 'Suburban Knights' released on August 20.

New Babyshambles Album Details

The follow up to 2005's "Down In Albion" features twelves new tracks including 'The Lost Arts Of Murder', 'Carry On Up The Morning' and 'Delivery', which drummer Adam Ficek revealed via myspace would be the band's first release on September 16.

The album has been produced by Stephen Street (Blur, The Smiths); a far cry from the raw production of The Clash's Mick Jones on their debut record.

Look Before You Leap - Klaxons Tour Cancelled

Klaxons vocalist and bassist, Jamie Reynolds, broke his leg leaping from the stage at the end of the band's set at a European Festival. And as a result the band have been forced to cancel a series of tour date.

New Update From New Order

Due to recent questions that have arisen over the future of New Order at both the Cannes Film Festival and the Mojo Awards, Bernard Sumner and Stephen Morris have today decided to issue a press statement.

Bernard and Stephen - “After 30 years in a band together we are very disappointed that Hooky has decided to go to the press and announce unilaterally that New Order have split up. We would have hoped that he could have approached us personally first. He does not speak for all the band, therefore we can only assume he no longer wants to be a part of New Order.”

Looks like New Order will carry on afterall.

The Verve Reunite

After disbanding in 1999, The Verve have announced they have returned to the studio and will be playing a series of UK lives dates in November

In a surprise and very succinct statement from the band’s representatives, its been revealed that the original full line up of The Verve - Richard Ashcroft, Nick McCabe, Simon Jones and Pete Salisbury – have reformed and were back recording together in a London studio last week.

This first session will be followed by a summer break, after which they will return to the studio to complete their next album, which will be the band’s first since the release of the legendary "Urban Hymns" back in 1997.

The only member of the band who isn’t involved is Simon Tong, who joined the group in 1996 to replace Nick McCabe after he left the band (only to return six months later). Tong now plays with The Good The Bad & The Queen.

They were prepared to camp out overnight to receive one of the 200 coveted entry wristbands that were to scheduled to be given out tomorrow at 12:30 pm.

However, store management decided to give them a break and hand out wristbands early so the fans wouldn't have to queue up overnight.
